Super Cup
The Belgian Volleyball Super Cup is the seasonโs curtain-raiser for Belgiumโs top-tier volleyball. Played as a single-match showcase, the event pits the reigning league champion against the national cup winner in a high-profile showdown that kicks off the national calendar. The format is simple but explosive: one decisive game that sets the tone for the coming season and crowns an early trophy that clubs and fans chase with immediate intensity. Typically staged at the start of September or October, the Super Cup gathers Belgiumโs best clubs and indicators of the seasonโs title contenders. Historically, the match has featured the countryโs volleyball heavyweights, with regular appearances by Knack Roeselare, Maaseik, and Lindemans Aalst among the favorites, alongside rising stars who bring fresh energy. The format can adapt if a single team wins both league and cup; when that happens, the runner-up commonly fills the spot, ensuring a true test for the champions. Fans flock to the Super Cup for the thrill of early-season form, the spectacle of elite volleyball, and the promise of fresh signings and rivalries that shape the months ahead.
